The Last Time I Died
(The End . . . 90 Seconds to Midnight - Sterling Anthony)

Last time I died, I didn’t remember.
I had no idea what I was about to uncover.
When I was on my way, back to Savannah State,
We're talking ’93. I almost met my fate [again].
But like I said, I did not recall.
All I can tell you is; blood was on that bathroom floor!
Yeah, it was mine. That's word to my mother.
She came in to help me out. No, I did not suffer.
It was rather peaceful. Vision gone; can’t see.
Last thing I heard was “We can't find his heartbeat”.
Yeah, that was it. I felt supper light.
I felt so much love, surrounded by white. . . . Last time I died.

Paramedics came and took my lifeless body.
Seconds felt like years. Yes, I was out of here.
When I was gone, I was shown my life,
From the beginning up until that very point.
See here's the thing, I was here before,
And like DeJa’Vu . . . I had hit the floor.
I was told I'm going back. I was like “I just got here!”
He said your presences is required, but I was like “I'm so tired.”
It was at that moment I was shown my purpose.
I saw the good the bad, the ups and the downs, and how he worked it
Out, just for his glory! None of this life was bout me
I was humbled. Returned. Woke up in emergency . . . Last time I died.

Mom was on that payphone calling up prayer warriors.
That's when she saw him, a man surrounded by an aura.
He was a specialist called in to patch me up.
No longer in danger. I felt like I knew this stranger.
But never mind. I was glad to be alive.
But this was not over. I had to spend the night,
In recovery. I needed to self-reflect.
The next morning the doctor came by to take a check.
He said I’d be fine and then out he walked.
As the nurse came in, on her face was total shock.
she said, “who was that man!”. We said that was the specialist.
she ran back out in the hall but (poof) he had vanished.
She said “I’ve worked here 30 years; I know every doctor.
I've never seen that man before in my life!”. Now this was awkward.
It must have been an angel. The creator does provide.
I felt inside I'm justified and that how it went . . . the last time I died.
